Boomer vs. Millennial: Introducing Ian and Tae
A South Korean citizen, Bob Jones University student, business marketing major and former member of the Korean Navy – braving the business world as one of Progress Lighting’s newest team members and interns. Tae has been immersed in the American culture from an early age, learning English and attending school away from his family since his elementary years.
Now, Tae brings a bright spirit, can-do attitude and eagerness to learn to Progress Lighting’s marketing team – and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have him on board! Tae is responsible for assisting the marketing team on social media and online communication initiatives. Key projects include improving the Progress Commercial website and new Progress Design Guide.
A 43-year Progress employee, lighting industry expert and leading Regional Sales Manager – building big picture strategy and driving long-term relationships for the Progress Lighting brand. With a degree in psychology from the University of Maryland, Ian joined Progress Lighting fresh out of college as an associate representative in the D.C. area. Ian has since transitioned to lead a team of 20+ sales associates as the Sales Manager for a region extending from Ohio to the Caribbean and Latin America.
Ian has had the privilege of experiencing first-hand massive changes in the lighting industry and breakthroughs for the brand itself – all while staying motivated by a workplace culture and team of employees which he affectionately refers to as “family.”
Join us tomorrow as we continue our Boomer vs. Millennial series – with a look at how Ian and Tae divulge surprisingly similar workplace experiences.
